Welcome, I’m Gideon.

I’m an engineer who came up through design. I’ve worked across both for over 15 years, and these days my output is mostly code: the web’s core languages of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and the architecture, standards and design systems that scale them across teams.

An illustration and animation background means I sweat the craft details, but I care most about the unglamorous things: accessible components, predictable patterns, and the tooling that lets a whole team ship faster without breaking the brand. You can see how that plays out in the design system and the occasional bit of writing.

I live in Leeds, UK. Off-screen it’s guitar, drawing, and the occasional open mic.

That's Dexter, my trusty sidekick. He and his brother Toby are getting a bit old now, but have a habit of getting into mischief when we least expect it. Here they are, collaborating to get an egg poacher off the counter (we weren't there to see it, but this is the only way we could imagine it happening!).
